The film starts off with a five-year-old Muslim girl named Farah Mirza, who is struggling to learn how to pray. The family she lives with is pretty strict, so she ends up not praying for years. She's convinced that if her memory isn't good enough for remembering the prayers she can't pray, nobody else can either. But one day after learning about the multiplication tables from her teacher, her whole perspective changes about prayer and religion. This scene really helped me realize how much I was missing by not practicing my prayers regularly as a kid. I thought the story was very well written and it had an unexpected twist. I would recommend this movie to anyone who is trying to learn about Islam. The movie opens up the door for them to learn more about Islam, along with important life lessons that are also included in the movie. For anyone who is looking for a way to connect with God, this is a great place to start! I really enjoyed seeing Farah's struggle when it came to religious knowledge being so important in her life. This movie has converted many of my friends into Muslims, it's very eye opening for both my friends and me. If you're just looking for a new way to connect with God, then I recommend you rent or buy this movie! This movie also reminds me of the old film the Karate Kid. Farah does a lot of things that Daniel-san does in "the Karate Kid." She even uses a Taekwondo move against one of her bullies! Overall, I thought the movie was really touching and it has changed my life forever. My whole outlook on prayer and religion has completely shifted since watching this film. Although some people may think that praying is kind of dorky, they should reconsider that mindset after watching this film. If you are interested in learning more about Islam or you need a new way to connect with God, I highly recommend this film! Okay, so I decided to write this review after watching the film for my two friends who are still deciding if it's even real. :) I told them that there wouldn't be any spoilers in this review, but they thought that maybe I could talk about their experience with the movie. My first friend told me that they watched the movie alone and it took them forever to finish. What she didn't realize was that she had no idea what was going on in the beginning of the film. She only knew the story about Farah and her friends and she didn't know what happened to them after Farah's prayer, until she read all of the articles on Google. After watching this movie, my other friend decided to observe the Muslim faith. They said that it changed their entire perspective on religion and they now practice daily prayers!
